The SB90E was originally developed by Storebro in co-operation with the Swedish Navy. The name was derived from Stridsbåt 90 E (E-as simple). Later, the ship was also marketed internationally for military and civilian purposes under the designation SRC 90E.
HullWith the development of the hull of the SRC 90E, new production techniques were introduced at Storebro. The requirement to be able to land the boat directly on stony rocks made it necessary to use high-strength carbon fibre composite materials. The hulls were then manufactured using the vacuum infusion process.
AntriebScania served as the engine supplier. Various versions of Scania V8 marine diesels with originally 625 hp and later 800 hp were used. Propulsion was then provided by a KaMeWa FF-410 jet drive, which gave the boat extreme manoeuvrability and agility.
PropulsionAfter being decommissioned from the Swedish armed forces, some of the boats were donated to the Swedish Sea Rescue Organisation "Sjöråddnings Sällskapet", SRSS. In the meantime, the SRSS has also decommissioned the SRC 90E and the vessels can be found on broker portals. However, as the ships do not have CE labelling, they cannot be sold to private individuals.

Many of the production techniques introduced soon benefited the J32. Like the SRC 90E, it was equipped with jet propulsion and a carbon fibre-reinforced keel.
