Remarks
The Storebro 475 Commander was one of the new models that have been developed within the Nimbus Group from 2001. She shared the hull with the
SRC 465 Biscay, which in fact she replaced.
With the SRC 475 Commander Nimbus imposed the concept of Commander models for the first time on a Storebro. After the SRC 465-design has already lost a part of its elegance, the SRC 475 Commander was far far away from the old line design and elegance.
Inside, however, the concept offered great advantages over the SRC 465 Biscay. There were 3 separate cabins are realized with 6 full beds. However, many things havn"t thought through in this ship. Thus, a sliding side door was available only on the port side and the seating area to starboard looked as if the designers did not know exactly what to build at this point. The little table that graced this corner seat, crowned the concept. The whole ship was rather dark because of the Nimbus typical small Windows. This was underlined again by the photos for the brochure, which were taken in the dark.
My own reaction at the launch of the ship on the fair: "It looks like a Nimbus" was then still denied. Nevertheless, for me this ship represented the lowest point of the Storebro/
Nimbus design.
Miscellaneous
The lateral nameplates were carried out without the white outer trim at the first two or three ships. So they took over the design of the SRC 465 Biscay. At least since ship number four Storebro switched back to the known design.
