The Storebro 31 PC was developed by Storebro Bruks AB in close co-operation with the Royal Swedish Navy for ship-to-shore transport and for crew transport within the bases.
Two civilian customers were also enthusiastic about the ship, but wanted their ship with a flying bridge. FMV also decided in favour of this variant and ordered the last Storebro 31 PC, also with flying bridge (S/N 2956).
The ship was equipped with simple, robust benches for passenger transport.
The interior fittings for the civilian ships were again based on the familiar woodwork of the leisure boats. The first civilian ship with a flying bridge (S/N 2811) was equipped with longitudinal sofas in the saloon and was delivered in a high-gloss finish. The second ship with a flying bridge, the one ordered by FMV, was equipped with two dinettes in the saloon and a pentry and WC in the aft cabin.
After the end of production, the moulds were sold. The buyer adapted the moulds and produced a modified version of the ship with a long aft deck similar to the Storebro 34 WB/Sport. These ships were not produced by Storebro.
Before the ships were accepted by the Swedish FMV, the shipyards had to prove the stability of the ships. For this purpose, the ships had to be operated for four hours under full load and without a break. A reduction in speed in bends was also not permitted. A representative of the Swedish navy carried out the procedure together with Lennart Ivarsson. The ships were then continuously driven back and forth off Västervik.
Construction number 2809 is a special case. The ship was only completed in 2017 and is a combination of Storebro 31 PC and Storebro Royal Cruiser 31 Baltic. The hull comes from the Storebro PC, the deck shell from the Storebro Royal Cruiser 31 Baltic. Lars Bjureus built the ship from old original parts and newly developed parts in the halls of Storebro. Compared to the original model of the Baltic, this ship was given some interesting modifications. For example, the control panel was adapted to today's requirements, the washbasin in the toilet was a combination of Corian® and stainless steel instead of GRP and the panelling on the cabin roof was the same as on the Commander 410.
